Introducing... True by Tina Lobo
Introducing... True by Tina Lobo from Sri Lanka...
"I most enjoyed handcrafting nature-inspired teethers and rattles for Aria to play with in soft, soothing colors. I considered each piece as a tiny treasure, designed with love and made to last." - Tina (owner of True by Tina Lobo)
If you know Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon), an island nation south of India in the Indian Ocean, you will also marvel at the beauty of this nation from its diverse landscapes ranging from rainforest and arid plains to highlands and sandy beaches. The city of Anuradhapura, the ancient capital of Sri Lanka, has many ruins dating back to more then 2,000 years.
In this beautiful country resides many craftsmen and craftswomen, who handcrafts items for a living, or for a purpose.
The Birth of True by Tina Lobo (& Baby Aria!)
Though Tina's professional qualifications and career has always been in Finance, she always had an urge to design and create. After the birth of baby Aria in 2019, as with any other newly crowned mummy, Tina discovered a new found passion in all things baby related. In her quest to source for the best for Aria, she started handcrafting teethers and rattles for Aria to play with. Being involved from the start to the end meant she had total control of the materials and quality.
With this new found passion, Tina did extensive research on the products. Combined with a gap in the market for safe and aesthetically pleasing teething products; True was born!

It is not uncommon to see slobber hung in frothy ropes from the baby's mouth. As babies start to grab for things when they turn three to five months, their mouth is the best way to explore this beautiful world. "Into the mouth it goes!" said all babies ever.
When we spoke to Tina, her passion of doing this touched me. There were many business competitors in Sri Lanka but it was all good to her that she was doing this for her baby, and those around her. Of course, it definitely helped that all her products are made with food grade silicone and untreated maple or beech wood. They are not only enticing to touch and feel (when you run your fingers on the natural woodgrains), they are also yummy for babies to explore with their mouths!
